To be a total system of quality employment, housing and transportation to meet the needs of persons with disabilities in Durham, North Carolina.
Job Placement
Mearis Workforce Solutions (MWS) will support clients by endorsing them for employment, assisting with preparing clients for a job of choice or capable of performing. Assist with putting together a resume that is error-free and cleanly presented to network with contacts or make in-person prospecting visits with employers. We will also support clients with interviews by coaching to build confidence to interview.
Housing
We will support our clients with housing by assisting with HUD and other available sources to qualify for low-income housing – to have a safe haven and a comfort zone, and a place to truly just be yourself.
Transportation
Our clients will be supported with transportation knowledge and services to get to and from the job site in a safe, efficient, responsive and cost-effective manner. This will allow our clients to achieve healthy, independent, self-sufficient lives through a coordinated transportation system.
About Us
Mearis Workforce Solutions (MWS) is a nonprofit health care agency located in the Community of Durham, North Carolina, to support aspiring people with disabilities between the ages of 18 and 30. It is our goal to help those who have the ability to take care of themselves, travel to familiar places in their community, have basic skills related to safety and health, and be able to perform any meaningful work.
The clients will be supported with suitable job opportunities, affordable housing and transportation services. Mearis Workforce Solutions will aim to improve the overall quality of life as we promote independence and security by means of offering a total system of quality employment, housing and transportation.

A special word from our founder, Delven Mearis
I have been working with persons with disabilities for over 25 years, I am in quest of solving the stigma and discrimination that persons with disabilities face when it comes to jobs and affordable housing opportunities and the fact that they are left out of community development framework. It is often assumed that persons with disabilities cannot be an incredibly productive participant of the community but with some assistance these
persons with disabilities will produce very successful results and become active contributors to the community. For this reason, I am extremely keen to ensure that persons with disabilities who seeks Mearis Workforce Solutions (MWS) for support are given the provision needed to properly take care of their specific needs.
Moreover, I seek to fill a huge void in the persons with disabilities community. I feel a sense of duty to ensure that persons with disabilities have access to the job market. In addition, persons with disabilities are not fully supported with affordable housing and/or have easy access to transportation to live without difficulty within their communities. In addition, this service is in demand for these reasons; Employment is low for persons with disabilities within the workforce, and there is a worldwide movement of persons with disabilities working for equal opportunities, self-determination, and self-respect.
